Dr. Maddon saved our cat's life. She had very severe and sudden weight loss and muscle weakness. Her bloodwork didn't show anything unusual, and he referred her to a specialist who was unable to figure out the issue. She went from 13 pounds to 9 in a little over a week, and we had to resort to force feeding her. Dr. Maddon was able to come up with a list of several likely causes, and before running specific tests to cross them off, which was going to take money and precious time, he prescribed one antibiotic that could treat a majority of the likely causes. And it worked!
The techs are really great, Dr. Maddon and Dr. Parker are both excellent and really do care. I would trust them both with my dogs' lives.
Not sure what all the bad posts are about, I think people in this neighborhood are probably a little entitled and stuck up. They are not going to go out of your way to win you over, but if you are genuinely courteous towards them they will certainly return the gesture which in this day and age is rare. Thank you for caring for my baby.
We used park slope vets for years before we left park slope, and every doctor was great: caring, attentive, and willing to acknowledge that loving our pets doesn't mean having to spend extra money on unnecessary tests or medicine. Now that we've moved, we're still looking for a vet as great as park slope vets.
The staff that answers the phones are horrible. I called and stated that my dog had an accident and I needed to see a vet and they just said no. Never asked my pets name, what had happened or knew that my dog has been a patient since a puppy and is now 15. Retrain or rehire people with compassion or you will lose your customers.
I hesitated to give 5 stars because I paid almost twice what I thought was fair for a check up and to look at a broken tooth but the staff was wonderful and the doctors were very loving and insightful to my pet. This is a business So of course they will recommend as many treatments that are appropriate to treat your pet, but you can just get and exam and ask them for an estimate, which is nice.
Highly recommend.
Just crooks. I vent there, because my dog had a little wart. Doctor said, that it will be gone in couple weeks by itself. But if not, then we need to come back, well they charge my 70$ only for consultation and didn't help at all. Of course wart didn't pass, so I used the regular drops for warts which coast me 10$. Little bit less than pay one more time 70$ for nothing.
