Overall a new place but on a solid culinary foundation that's experiencing growing pains.
Lovely atmosphere, and great food. They also have happy hour. Atentive and friendly waitress. Would definetly come back. They also do karaoke on Monday nights.
We were served Ginger beer where some were sweetened and others not - that was odd.
Nice waiters and bartenders. Food is excellent. Prices are just right.
A much needed West Indian eatery in an developing part of Brooklyn. Working out a few of the kinks but certainly one of the things they have down is the food. Smoked jerk wings were tasty, spicy in a flavorful way. Jamaican breakfast featured ackee & salt fish, steamed vegetables, green banana & dumplings. All very good, saltfish was balanced by the dumplings and green banana.
There were only two waiters in the entire restaurant. One of which was the asst. manager. We were told that three staff members called out. Management - where is your back up plan or are you aware of temp agencies?
I look forward to seeing the refinements they make to make Fusion shine.
Service was a bit slow for our party. The manager acknowledged this and have is free salad in apology before we could complain about the wait, nicely done!
The male waiter tried his best to accommodate us as well as serve the other guests. He was really extremely polite and did all he could do to possibly serve us. Some of us received appetizer about two hours later and some including me received mine even later. One of the quest requested that her wings (appetizer) be cooked thoroughly. Well instead of re-cooking the batch she returned, they brought her another batch much later still not well cooked. We spoke with the assistant manager who apologized and promised to bring out cod fish. This never happened. Some of us didn't get our main course until after 4PM.
Good food. Seasoned. Taste home cooked. Good portions. Good prices. Polite staff.
I attended a group event on Saturday, 9/16/17. The quality of service we received was totally unsatisfactory. Our event was scheduled from 1:30 to 4 PM. We had to wait over an hour just for water. When we asked for water the asst. manager first gave one guest a bottle of water. Finally she brought 4 glasses of water ( guest were between 25 and 27). The rest of us was given water about an hour later.
There was no one to clean the tables and removed the used dishes. Some of the guests including myself pitched in and started clearing the tables as we patiently waited for the main course. Some guest had to leave without eating because of scheduled pickups. When they requested take out it took over an hour for them to receive. One guest family member arrived after 4 to pick her up. She wasn't ready because food was not served timely. The person had to wait an hour.
This quality of service is poor and unacceptable. Owners step up your game. I'm wondering are you more concern about fattening your pockets rather than providing quality customer service. Perhaps the owners/mangers need to attend customer service training. If the head is not right the tail can't be right. Also check out your staff attire.
Would I go back? Absolutely.
