I am surprised and dismayed by the unhappy reviews, and want to address them for any new people who read them and wonder. My thoughts: one of the bad reviews is pretty unintelligible; I would be wary of trusting a vet from another town who can make claims on something as delicate as a possible amputation without reviewing an actual medical chart; care credit is an extra payment option in ADDITION to credit cards; I have never had an issue with any of the receptionists or with the phone system. Yes, they are a very busy practice and are very loyal to their clients, so even if you are having an emergency, it may be impossible for them to just ditch people and pets who have appointments for their own issues that need medical care. And yes, this is not some cut rate "treat-em-and-street-em" kind of place, so it's not the cheapest place you can find. However, I have never felt that their prices are unfair or out of line with practices in this area, and would gladly pay more for the level of education, knowledge, skill, and expertise that is shown at All Creatures.
We are Monday night and still nothing from them. I called ten times in two days and sent many emails. Tomorrow it will be three days that I went there for the appointment and that I don't have any results.
SUPERLATIVE PEOPLE AND PRACTICE:
I called All Creatures in a last ditch effort to help save my dog.First, the telephone answering system is the WORST! it is unintelligible and it took 3 phone calls before someone came to the phone. I expressed the dire straits that my dog was in and i was told that the Dr. couldn't come to the phone nor would she call me back. I could however, make an appointment for 5 days later! The receptionist had no concern for the needs of the animal nor was she able to assist in obtaining alternative care for my dog. The vet. i saw there was good, but the receptionist (Brittney) has ZERO business being employed as a receptionist!!
I could tell I really loved this place when I walked in, because the receptionist was so kind. She checked my cat and commented on how pretty he was! She showed me in almost immediately. The place is clean and spacious. The wait time was about 10 minutes, and allowed my cat to calm down a bit. The nurse was very nice to my cat, and eventually I met with Dr. Wood who was so caring. She was really careful when it came to inspecting my 15-year-old kitty, and had a great second opinion. I walked away with 3 medications for my cranky old cat, and the total visit was a little over $150. I definitely recommend this vet!
I have two dogs with very different needs and personalities. I've lived in many different places and travel a lot, sometimes with my dogs, so consequently have frequented many different veterinary practices (at least four others in Brooklyn alone). All Creatures does the best job BY FAR at balancing excellence in care, price, warmth of staff, and efficiency, and does an incredible job at putting both humans and animals at ease. Dr. Morgan will present all available options, so that YOU can be fully informed and make educated decisions for your pet and your situation. Everyone has different needs and financial constraints, so what is best for one client is obviously not best for another, and she is sensitive to that. Even though we have been to some very fine practices in small towns, where personal attention is perhaps easier than in a big city, we have received the most personalized and devoted care at All Creatures of any practice. They help with the often confusing maze of pet insurance paperwork, offer acupuncture and laser therapy (among others), do research on weird issues by consulting with other vets, and have even recommended we see another practice for an orthopedic issue.
I came again on Saturday because I needed to check again my cat urine and blood. The consultation seemed to be unprepared, they did not even have the previous results or the historic when i was there only a month ago.
On top of that the front desk lied to me saying several times the vet will call me and the vet has still not called me.
They told me I will get blood and urinary results the next, my Cat is sick and on medicine and I need to know what I am supposed to do with the medicine and if I need to start a new one.
This is really unprofessional and irresponsible.
They were so nice to my two new roommates. Very quick and professional. Look forward to coming to them for years
First time I went there was fine.
