It has a fraction of the exhibits you will see at museums like the Met. However I truly enjoyed my visit. Less crowds than Manhattan museums which gives visitors a chance to see exhibits up close. I went to see two exhibits in particular. The addition of short films added to the experience. When I left the museum I had a fuller understanding of the subject and most importantly I learned something new. It was my first visit, but I would definitely go back.
Great museum that usually has a variety of really interesting installations. There’s parking around on side streets and down the block near to the botanic gardens. Speaking of, there is a deal where you can knock out a decent fee when you buy entrance to the museum and garden as they’re right next to each other so offering a good kill two birds with one stone type of deal.
Beautiful museum architecture set on Brooklyn's Prospect Park. Cleanest restrooms I've been to in a museum. Love the rotating exhibits, interactive activities, and audio tours available. You can donate $ for cheaper entry tickets. Promotes cross-cultural exhibits. Plan on a couple days to fully enjoy the variety of exhibits and have a spring/summer lunch or picnic in the neighboring park or front seating areas. Enclosed seating area and bathrooms before entry are available also.
This is one of my favorite museums in the city. They have a huge ancient Egypt section; it's one of the largest in the US and takes up almost an entire floor of the museum. I adore the visible storage section that allows you to see make items today can't fit in the galleries. I also love the first Saturday events they have. It gives you a chance to not only enjoy the museum, but to take part in activities related to the exhibits along with live music.
I love the renovations over the years. It still has a Brooklyn feel to it . Check out Judy Chicago's Dinner Party Collection. Not just for females because it promotes feminism. Trust. It's a must see for all..... I also love the Korean Art.
