Overall, 4+ stars for the ride
Very expensive outing, but it is worth visiting for the Cyclone alone. There are some other fun rides, including the severely underrated Thunderbolt. However, unless you’re a diehard coaster enthusiast, save some cash and just try to hop on the cyclone with a loved one around sunset. It is truly a magical experience. And don’t forget to go to Nathan’s just across the street!
A great day trip from the city, Luna Park is a special place. They do a good job preserving the history of Coney Island while creating a fun and family friendly experience. The staff is wonderful and helpful. I recommend visiting on a weekday as the park is less crowded. I visited twice this week (Tuesday and Wednesday) and there were virtually no lines for any ride. Do stay up to date with park times on the Luna Park website as opening days and times can be a bit irregular especially in the beginning and end of the season.

I personally won't ever go here again for many reasons. I went here on October 8 at 7:27 pm. It was about 40 minuets till closing time, and I took my daughter to the 'Soaring Eagle' ride. My daughter was urging to go, and I went to the ticket stand, and bought 1 ticket for the Soaring Eagle. When I took her to the ride, I spent 5 minuets waiting for a group of 4 employees to finish their conversation. One employee walked up to me and said the ride was CLOSED. So I went back to the ticket booth and the lady there called up the Manager, and they apologized and said they weren't informed that the ride was closed, and gave me my money back. We were about to leave until we see a group of people ENTERING THE RIDE. I ended up going back to the Ticket booth, and the lady told me that they opened up the ride again. I payed 7$ for the ticket again, and my daughter left with a happy face.
They have bands that you can purchase and have access to unlimited rides. The people who work there are so nice and helpful. The rides also seemed well maintained and clean. The family had a blast!
Luna park is very small compared to other big name amusement parks. There are very limited rides for kids under 40 inches. The all-day bracelet does not get you on all of the rides on the other separate sections of the amusement park. Bumper cars is a totally separate section that cost about $5. But my 9 and 11-yr-old really enjoyed the few rides that they did get on. We were there for almost four hours and they got on their favorites multiple times.
